I have been going through old hard drives trying to catalog and archive some of my older work. I hadn't been through this set of images in a while and decided to give them a look with some fresh eyes.
I was not disappointed.
When you grow as an artist, your technique and style change. Over time you see things differently, and at certain parts, you can be blinded by the search for the 'perfect' image, and miss so much of the path along the way.
Crazy to me these were shot 10 years ago. Haiti is a country so fraught with poverty and beauty, violence and peace, joy and sadness.
While the situation there is difficult, I have met a few people along the way that give me hope for Haiti's future. The people are loving, joyful, and friendly. It is truly a beautiful and vibrant country and culture with a unique history that I wish more people knew about.
